Through dentistry treatments designed to improve the health of your smile, our dentists can help you maintain a healthy smile for many years to come.
Cleanings and Checkups
Periodic cleanings and checkups play a vital role in keeping your smile healthy and looking its best. Regular dental exams can alert you to changes in your oral health, allowing you to take action before further damage occurs. Even if you are extremely conscientious about brushing and flossing, tartar can build up at and below the gum line. Tartar provides the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive, which can lead to the development of gum disease. During cleanings, we use the BIOLASE Waterlase® MD to kill unhealthy bacteria that live below the gum line.
Digital Radiographs
While obtaining x-ray images of your teeth may be necessary for our dentists to diagnose and develop treatment plans, unnecessary exposure to radiation is not. Digital radiography exposes patients to less radiation — up to 90 percent less — and produces clear, high-resolution images that help us easily see areas of concern. Because the digital images appear on a computer monitor, digital radiography is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional film x-rays.
Periodontal Treatment
Laser periodontal therapy can treat gum disease and restore dental health. By performing periodontal treatment with the BIOLASE Waterlase® MD laser, our dentists are able to improve our patients' comfort levels and speed the healing process.
Tooth-colored Fillings
An alternative to traditional metal, or amalgam, fillings, tooth-colored fillings are made from a composite resin material. Because the resin is harder and more durable than metal fillings, tooth-colored fillings tend to last longer than their amalgam counterparts. They also look more natural. With tooth-colored fillings, people will be looking at you and not your metal fillings when you talk and laugh.
Complete and Partial Dentures
Despite the fact that the placement of dental implants is rising in popularity as a more comfortable, permanent way to replace missing teeth, dentures are still a mainstay of tooth replacement. Furthermore, new innovations have made the dentures of today much more comfortable and natural-looking than those worn by previous generations.
Sedation Dentistry
Oral sedation takes the anxiety out of going to the dentist. Individuals with dental phobia, people with extreme tooth sensitivity, and those who cannot control their gag reflex may be good candidates for sedation dentistry. A discussion with a sedation dentist can help you determine whether sedation dentistry may be suitable for you.
